At KOMER, we value your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal data you entrust to us. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile app and services.
1. Data Controller
The data controller for personal data is KOMER SARL, legally incorporated in Cameroon and operating under the trade name "KOMER."
2. Data Collected
We collect only the data necessary to provide our services, including: identification info (name, phone number, email), location data (delivery address, GPS), transaction info (order history, payment amounts), technical data (device type, OS), account data (login credentials, OTP, language preferences), and usage data (feedback, support requests, KOMER KASH and KREDITS activity).
3. Purpose of Processing
Your data is used for: creating and managing accounts, processing orders and deliveries, mobile payment processing (Orange Money, MTN MoMo, credit cards), customer communication, improving services, fraud prevention and compliance, and managing the KOMER KASH and KREDITS loyalty program.
4. Legal Basis
Processing is based on: your consent (during registration), contract performance (ordering and delivery), legal obligations (tax and accounting), and our legitimate interest in improving service quality.
5. Data Sharing
Your data may be shared only with KOMERçants and independent riders (for order fulfillment), technical providers (hosting, payments, maintenance, security), and legal authorities upon request. KOMER does not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.
6. Data Security
We apply technical and organizational measures to protect your data: encrypted communications, secure OTP-based authentication, and restricted data access to authorized personnel only.
7. Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as you use the platform. After account closure, archived for 3 years for compliance, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution. Anonymous technical logs may be retained indefinitely. Early deletion requests can be sent to info@komer.io.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to: access your data, rectify or update it, request deletion (under certain conditions), object to or restrict processing, and request data portability. To exercise your rights, email info@komer.io.
9. Cookies and Navigation Data
Technical cookies may be used to ensure proper app functionality. KOMER does not collect browsing data for advertising purposes at this stage.
10. Policy Updates
This Privacy Policy may be updated. In case of significant changes, users will be notified via the app or email.
11. Use of Anonymized Data
KOMER may analyze, aggregate, and anonymize certain data (e.g., order volume, delivery times, high-demand areas). These cannot identify individuals and may be used to improve services, share aggregated insights with partners, and develop internal tools. No identifiable personal data is sold, rented, or shared without explicit consent.
